I have always enjoyed reading comics but I found that drawing them was even more fun. My warped imagination would kick in and I'd start inventing little characters and the worlds they lived in. I have been particularly fascinated with tiny things and what the world looks like from a bugs perspective.
I have created a number of cartoon strips and I was drawing them regularly for many years just for fun. My 'Ogga the Cane Toad' cartoon strip is the only one that has been formally published, it appeared in a couple of newspapers in Queensland, Australia.
This is my oldest cartoon strip and it has evolved a lot over the years. Basically, Ogga (the main character) is a surfing cane toad that lives in a shoe on the back varendah of a little house. James is the owner of the house (and the shoe) and he also surfs. The strip's setting is at fictitious beach in Queensland, Australia. The comic strip is about the Ogga's adventures, and the crazy situations he always seem to find himself in.
This is a story about a pet store owned by Graeme Frontbum. He trys hard to keep things under control but it seems that the pets have a different idea.
Just a crazy cartoon strip about a bunch of little bugs and critters and the lives they live in their miniature world.
The original story that I planned took four pages but I only drew the first two. They are shown here in pencil.
